Title: my car must f*cking hate me
Post by: Sugar79 on 09 February 2006, 18:22
well after months and months and months driving my car, with extremely bad mpg and having smelly black soot/smoke coming out the back, i managed to afford to buy a lambda sensor last week with my first lot of wages
went to try and fit it last weekend, but feeling ill and looking at the postion of the sensor i relised that it need to go to the garage, so i thought i'll have to sort that out for next weekend.
so anyway this week on monday, ive noticed my mpg has gone back to normal, and the smelly black smoke has gone!! it also idles properly too.. what the hell is going on, did my car wait for 8months for me to buy a f*cking sensor (which was hassle to get hold of) then go and fix its self after all this time!!! bet if i plugged in VAG-COM it would come up on the screen "hahaha boll*cks to you, i was only joking"

Well its going to get replaced, now i have bought a new one! GRRR bloody car!!

EDIT: also last thursday i filled the car up with petrol, which cost me £40, and reset the mileage, so far its done 190miles on half of that!! WTF its never done that in the whole time of owning it!!!

I would hold onto that sensor and wait for it to go wrong again. That way at least your prepared for the worst.

Best think of these kind of situations in the best light as you got to make the most from everything in life :)

If those sensors are that difficult to get hold of id keep it in a safe place and hope you dont have to use it. Maybe the car has finally run itself in?  :undecided:
