Engine /Gearbox Mounts ?

May I make a suggestion! Change your driving style.
Why would ya wanna change down whilst turning? You should be in the correct gear for the corner before you start turning!
Not trying to preach but I think you should seriously think why you are doing thsi!

what he said. mine wont go into first if it's at an uphill left turn junction.
-
if you are driving up to a roundabout and you are slowing down sometimes you need to down shift??
why am i justifying my driving!
anyway its turning left not right
also do you only change gear when driving straight? it is a gti

I am always in the correct gear before a corner and I cant see any reason not to be! Its called anticipation mate and any good driver should be capable of doing so!
So dont do it then your problem is solved! :smug:

Good answer. The police, the IAM and RoSPA trained drivers do it this way, basically everybody whos done more than passed their test. Its called driving by the SYSTEM. It doesn't solve your problem though, but engine mounts and/or gerabox mounts might as said above. Just because you own a GTi/GSi/VR6 etc it doesn't necessarily mean you can drive it correctly... :smug:

Over the past few days I have tried and I mean really tried to find a circumstance where there was a need to change down in a corner.
And I CANT!!!!
The situation you describe at a roundabout just doesnt compute. You can see a r'about from a long way away and you should be in the correct gear to negotiate it!
Anything else is downright stupid!
Now there are circumstances where I change up whilst turning, there is one glorious sweeping bend on joining a dually where I can wind it up and have to change from 2nd to 3rd at about 7000 rpm! I love it!
