Post by: mwep201081 on 16 November 2003, 23:48
i replaced the whole axle on my 1300 with that from a gti. the car failed its mot on the load sensitive pressure regulator. is this easy to set up or can i remopve the unit from the axle to get it through the mot? also any idea if fast road cams are avialable for a 1300?

The 1300 didn't have a load sensitive valve as standard so i don't think you need it for the MOT. The general rule is if its fitted its got to work. Phone a good MOT centre for advice. I wouldn't bother modding a 1300, its not worth it, just enjoy the fuel consumption!

When you fitted the gti rear axle, did you fit the drum brakes?. If you have the discs on you will need the load compensating valve. Steve.
