just wait and see what Microsoft bring out shortly.....

The probs with google earth (at the moment) is it needs to be connected to the net most of the time or have a mahoosive cache (like 10GB would give fairly good results for the UK)
It also needs better satelite images for the uk, the us is great, but the minute you go 6 miles away from the centre of london it goes really blurry...

If i had google earth installed i could find it easily :)
But the google maps website doesnt have maps of germany :( only england + USA

you can barely see the roads in google earth... the fad wore off in 5 mins for me.
-
Really? when i used it you could zoom right into our backgarden
It all depends where your looking really, they only have the high-zoom maps for highly populated areas.

Did you uncheck the terrain box ? It seems to be better quality when you do.

Most of the google earth images were taken circa late 2001, as a first pass of the UK.
( the half built conservatory in our garden being a huge clue)
They've re-visited some UK cities again, but nothing hugely new.
They updated a ton of the UK maps in detail but its still old detail ( check 'the gate' in Newcastle) which is a building site, but in reality its been open >3 to 4 years

Nurburgring is on Google Earth.. it doesnt come up because its a bit of a made up name, Nordscliefe is actually the name of the place you want, here it is..http://20832.com/images/site/Nordschleife_Google_Earth.jpg If you want a more detailed piccy, pick out a few reference points (towns etc) and go back to Google earth proper
