Title: leaky gearbox
Post by: doghair on 04 February 2006, 18:13
i've got a leaky gearbox, is it possible to fix it without buying a new gearbox?
I think its the bearings that have worn out inside where the drive shafts meets.
Ive replaced the seals around the driveshafts going into the gearbox

any suggestions thanks

prob a long shot but have you checked the seal/plate thing on gearbox? located on side and has vw logo on it?  mine leaked and looked like it was coming from driveshaft area but wasnt.

think its just a cover plate but cant remember will try find receipt and let you know:)
