looking for some advice.
My MK3 VR6 has developed a severe vibration when getting to speeds of around 80mph.
Feels like the front nearside wheel.
The car feels and sounds fine below that, no rumbley noises, but get over 80 and it feels like the front wheel is going to fall off, and it pulls left.
I have to slow right down for it to go away.
I dont think its a wheel bearing, i would have thought it would do it all the time.
Any ideas anybody, maybe a driveshaft, i have no idea but fear its dangerous, and could go altogether - what ever it is.
cheers

Its not the wheels, once it starts to rumble, it feels as if the wheel is coming off, quite a deep rumbling noise, had to slow down to about 20mph for it to stop.
The steering wheel shook like mad aswell and the car lurched to the left!!

sounds like a collapsed wheel bearing to me....

Track rod end or ball joint maybe.

Has anybody had experience of CV failures and replacements.
its been suggested that it could be the nearside CV.

Update -
it was the CV, but the wierdest thing was it didnt do it all the time, first time i took it to the garage they could find nothing wrong with it, then 2 days later it went again.
took it back and confirmed the CV.
