Title: hmmmm
Post by: Simpson on 02 February 2006, 17:48
was just looking at vw spares at fuel filters and looks like when i changed my fuel filter a while ago that i may have fitted the wrong type.  Looks like i may have fitted the later one instead of the early one.  Looking back ,cold start problems seemed to happen after fitting this, has anyone any ideas whether or not this would make any difference?

What type of MK2 do you have? GTI (8v or 16v) driver,  etc?

I wouldent of thought so. The more likely cause may be that you damaged the acumulator next to the filter. This site may offer more information on cold starting, i know the system has to stay pressurised to work from cold.

Changing the acumulator is just the same as changing the filter really. 2 pipes, one on each end and thats about it.
