Hi Guys,
First post in this area and its a problem unfortunately :(
I picked up my golf last night and did a final check on everything and by luck (or unluck) the electric window on the drivers side went down fine but when it was going up it got stuck and wound itself down. I am guessing this problem is down to the window coming of the tracks in the door and the reason its winding down is because of the safetly feature programmed into the windows so you don't get anything stuck in the window.
Question is;
Is this the common clip problem? Has one clip gone and thats why its screwing up?
Or is this something else?
I got a few bob of the sale because of this fault and it doesn't worry me to much as I'm not stupid enough to go to VW and expect a cheap fix. I am prepared to strip the door down but if its a cheap thing wouldn't mind paying an independant garage to address the problem.
Any replies helpful!
Thanks
Rich

read that mate and unfortunately it is a very common problem :sad:

if your regulator clips are broken, the window would have dropped down into the door with a thud, and wont come back up. if its only going up halfway then lowering itself again then the problem lies elsewhere... something stuck in the window rubbers perhaps.

ok thanks,
I think i'll get it looked at as it's winter and stripping doors down in the snow doesn't tingle my tingly bits :)

Could just be one of the clips that has failed and the window has gone up askew :undecided:
