i need to replace a ton of bulbs in my dash and the dash itself to make the car in good condition. id like to make all the dash lights blue. does anyone know how many bulbs that would mean changing for LED's and what type i would need to order?? id like to do all the switches that are lit up too. is this possible? has anyone done this properly? any info if you've done similar would be ideal

Theres a bit about it under instrument cluster lights in the maintenance 'child board', you could ask Mk2GTI2.016v for any more info you need as his bllue dash is pretty cool!

Im in the process of converting a set of switches. They will be up for grabs on ebay probably as of next week. I suppose i could also do a set of clocks to match if you were willing to pay, its not an easy job! Unless you just wanna replace the standard bulbs, but that looks crap. Have a look in my projects section, i think its about page 6.

im intrested in doing that fella so you are offering me a full kit to replace what i have and everything will be blue?
-
I can do you replacement switches if you send me your old ones and i suppose i could do your dials if you send me yours.
-
would it be easy enough to do myself then? ive seen your dash pics and id love to scheive the same effect. like the mfa blue too. looks great. id also like to have the heat bar blue aswell. is there a company that will provide me with the led's that fit in place of the bulbs?
-
Its not as simple as that. You can get replacement bulbs for the dials but the effect is no where close to what i have. As for the switches and heater bar you have to solder LED's in place of the bulbs. Not an easy task really but if your willing to have a go you can buy the LED's from here.

ok then so if i take off the parts and send them to you for say a tenner postage what would you charge to do the work and send them back? how quick can it be done?
-
mate, its soo easy, you only need one type of led from ultraleds and about half an hours time soldering. once you've done the first the rest are very simple.

-
mine are fine, not too bright in my opinion....
