Title: Crazy golf Project
Post by: prnit on 14 November 2003, 23:32
Hi
I am starting an golf mk1 crazy project :))
and would like to ask you some questions...and I request for advices if the idea is good..or what should I change?..
So week ago I have bought the Mk1 Gti golf with 1,6L injection engine and 4speed gearbox...

The project is to put the 2L 16V engine from mk3, totally take everything out from the car except 2 seats and dashboards.
Install VR6 brakes to the front, lower the car, install + 150HP NX system.  I would also like to change the engine parts with stronger materials...pistons (for example from jepistons.com) Please advice me if it is possible to buy those parts in UK ( I have family in London)
and what would be the about price...
I would like to have around 160HP without NX and around 300HP with Nitrous.

I write from Poland so sorry for some mistakes :)

best regards and awaiting advices

Probably easier to fit the 9A engine (2.0L 16v) out of the passat or corrado. The mk3 block is taller and has a different injection system.

Agree with '6 , use the 9a as it has the same block height as the 1800 and you won't have clearence probs with this install. You will have to use the o2a "cable shift" box as the standard one wil not take that amount of power. Cant advise on the nox, I have no experience, anyone?. Let us know how you get on ;).
