whats your 8 mins time??? starting and leaving ticking over till warm or getting in and going??

thermostat might be dodgey??? or a air lock of some sort.. but id say its a dodgey new thermostat youve had fitted if it never took 8 mins before

From getting in the car and driving, will take 8mins for the thermostat gauge panel to go 90 and then i will notice the heat. I only bought the car few months ago, it came with a broken thermostat, so i dont know the average heating time. Possibly the thermostat not fitted properly?

thats a realistic time, so do you reckon its the thermostat or a blockage?
