Title: attaching mk2 subframes

Hi
Ive recently bought  set of recaro's but there out of an escort

My question is

How do i take the subframes off my standered seats ans attach them to my recaros???

also is it any easyer using corrado subframes??

you can't use golf or corrado subframe, unless you fancy getting busy with a welder! and even then you'll probably be too high. unfortunately you'll have to use proper subframes which cost a few quid...

subframes cost a bomb im guessing

you can use the mk2 seat frame but then you might need to chop it down big time if the seats sit too high

the corrado one will sit lower. I recently fitted TT seats in my mk2 and i had to use the skeleton of the base as i needed them to sit low as possible.

you can do it and its not that hard but ultimately it'll mean some crafty welding. i'm not sure who does cheap subframes, you can get universal ones for most bucket seats but i'd go to recaro direct. but be sitting down when they tell you the price.
if you're pretty good with a welder or know someone who is that might be the best way?

ye thanks ive found some 1 that will do it and found a way to get it as low as possible!

and i went to recaro and got a price!   :shocked: :shocked:

scary innit! its one of those things thats easy to bodge but i like things to be as good as i can get them.... mostly anyway! :laugh:

ye well i mean the way im gonna fix these means actually cutting into the structure of the seats but at least it will be proper.. I hope! :lipsrsealed:
