Ok, My GTI is in the garage so I have a courtesy car.
VW Polo Sport TDI PD 75Bhp.
On my way home from work today I turn off through a lil village called "Lowca" and a Nova GTE follows me, this Nova has been on my arse since "Whitehaven" (Where I work) so I assume hes wanting a race... cos hes young and wears a baseball cap. (im young to by the way and I wanna race this Polo too)
So we drive outta the other side of Lowca and its a very dark road with no roadlights or anything... basically a road that runs between fields and its got a few good 90degree corners. So ... over two sleeping Policemen and outta Lowca we go...
2nd... 4000 revs Nova is giving it beans too... so I double-de-clutch into 3rd... keeping it on the turbo
3rd gear FLOOR IT.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Diesel Turbo power... bye bye Nova GTE.
150+lb/ft torque Vs about 100lb/ft, this thing just took off, its "in gear" accelleration is unreal.
anywayz, upto the first 90degree corner, slam the anchors on, all 4 discs light up, ... slightly wet road... handled well into corner, .. into right side of my lane, look over bushes, no cars coming, ... still corner, let it go to the other side of the road... keep the racing line... floor it outta the corner, keeping gears low to stay in with the turbo...2nd... 3rd.... 4th.... light left bend.... ease off at the corner check for cars... the foot to the floor again, Nova is about 50m behind, down hill .... back onto a flat, blind corner... slam those anchors again, light those 4 discs up... cars coming my way, stay in my lane but use all of it... Nova closes a lil bit.. fogs lights become brighter as it closes as it cant see cars coming yet.... around the corner Nova is about 25m... long straight, .... 2nd into 3rd floor it... .... ... ... ... gone.
Nova gave up I think.... or broke down... cos at the junction i sat there waiting for traffic to pass for about 30secs and it didnt appear and there was no parking places or turn off's LOL.
So there u go... Polo's aint bad and neither are Diesels ... oh and this is a 53 plate Polo with about 150miles on the clock... not even run in, im sure that Nova will have had about 120,000 on it.... and about 75,000 on its blue washer jet neons. lol.

nova was probably left on its roof in a ditch on that last bend ;)

It really is always those little Nova spacks that want to kick off all the time. It used to be a regular weekly duel before I got my VR6 now they dont bother getting in the next lane at the lights and sit and wait like good little boys behind!

Yeah well next year when Im older (lol) I hope to exchange this pissy 8v and get me some 16v powwa.

... Still cant beat that guy in the Clio 172 or the guy in the Type R though :-[ :'(

ah the Burberry Nova Crew - Slow down to really piss them off, speed up if they try to overtake. HAHHAHA.........god I'm sad.

I don't know you must have an over active imagination 'black gti'. I drive a mk1 golf 2.0 8v and my other half has a seat arosa 1.4 tdi 75 bhp, same lump lighter car than the polo and i can only just outrun a corsa sri '1.4 8v 82 bhp' in a straight line upto 100 mph. I'm damn sure a nova gte would be all over your arse in the polo unless you have the 1.9tdi 100 bhp. All i can suggest is that it was a 1.4sr or poxy 1.2. 8)

Coming home from work one day and had a new shape 3 series nudging me bumper (honestly, I was doing 120!!). Saw same car a few days later...it was a fat sweaty businessman type....proof that some of em DO reach puberty! ;)

It was a POS old Nova... probably knackered beyond repair, but it had a GTE badge on the front grille...
whether it was a "pretend" GTE I dunno... didnt ask.... but it had the badge and it was very old.
prolly 120,000+ miles on the clock... and probably not looked after... who the hell would look after a Nova???

120mph thats over the speed limit :o i would never venture past 70 mph as im a very cautious person ;)
