Title: poor running 2.0 8v mk3
Post by: cohead on 22 January 2006, 19:42
hi please help, my 96 2.0 8v has a serious running problem, at around 3500 rpm the car feels stuttery, almost like i am hitting a rev limiter. I have replaced all obvious parts even including taking a friends air flow meter, which didnt cure the problem. this is a real shame as the car is a good example and i am eager to get her back to her former self.

Try the relays.

Look at that other thread you just posted in and read my post. There are other threads about this same problem as it is a common one.

Hi len, as I am not to sure about all things mechanical can you give me any more pointers, i.e where to find these sensors? I do have a friend with the same car which i can rob bits off until i find the problem, many thanks cohead.

Phil (cohead)
Yea bit difficult to see those relays right up underneath.

Cant find it for sure but I believe that the ECU relay is E30. Try that one first. Oh and the Haynes manual aint that helpful either!
I remember what I did now - went to dealer and asked for part when I got it I replaced the corressponding numbered relay!
