Title: 16x8 with 40/80 drop
Post by: BabyBhp on 22 January 2006, 18:06
Ive just dropped my car 40 on the back and 80 on the front

and i got some 16x8 alloys in my garage doing nothing so i was wondering if its worth putting some tyres on there? or will there be scraping issues?

More likely a tree magnet issue tbh the brake bias will be all to cock not to mention the geometry and weight distribution, it's cool on a slow low beetle but not really a golf! You'll be posting about how you lost it on a corner in a week!
16X8" won't fit unless you roll/ angle grind your arches and depending on suspension and offset they will probably catch on corners! Speedbumps will become your worst enemy, all your tyres will get racing lines cut into them and it will bash and crash away at your arches. Other than that It'll be fine  :)
