Hi looking for ideas for my boot in my mk2. would be gratefull if people could post up pics of their boot builds thanks  :smiley:

kept it simple as i need the space. needs a hoover. Keep promisin to get round to makin a flatter box to go right along the back and give even more room, just dont get round to it. Amp is bolted under the floor, then just got a pair of focal components in the front. Sounds fantastic and not too difficult to do.

I like the way you've mounted ur amp, very neat. neither of my amps fit in thoses gaps!!! :angry:

Almost like this, but with Alpine changer instead of kenwood and temporary PG 12" xenon instead of JL.

what size mdf did u use 4 the side panels and floor?? how did you fix the side panels to the side of the boot??

18mm throughout. I built out the little peices that fill the gaps with little bits of MDF and covered them all.

The top floor holds the panels in place, it's very tight. enough so they don't come away from the tops. I was planning on screwing them to the parcel shelf supports, but didn't need to in the end.

I'm in the (slow) process of building door pods out of fibreglass at the moment. I'll post pics when I've done a bit more to them.

Cool, I did start sum door builds (they look quite nice) but I changed my mind, stick with the orginal door pods.

I want to fit 17cm speakers to my doors and I can't use audioscape ones as I have the mk3 dash in there and it sticks out (a lot) further than the mk2 one.

remember that time I put a polo sideways into a post doing 100mph and put the roof on the back seats and bent the floor hun?

I'd prefer there something to stop the roof doing that again if anything ever happens like that...

Yeah its a 5 way active cross over to be precise. It basicly takes a feed from the head unit and spits the sound into different cattegories i.e sub, rear, front, highs. Its also fully adjustable, i.e more bass or trebble or volume.

get a room pair of ya! If you are takin the seats out and gettin a cage dizzy make sure you hide the sub somehow coz im sure therel be chavs everywhere prepared to break in and feed their habbits.

that's why I said about putting the sub behind one of those panels. they will look exactly the same as they do now. all the amps are already hidden.
