Has the front bumper been off the car?? thats where the temp sensor wire connects.

As you stand at the front of the car, pull off the right hand grill in the bumper and the temp sensor is tucked up behind there, check it out, may be faulty.

There is no switch to open the boot from inside the car mate

didnt you say... you got a cheap bargain... air bag cover looks dodgy and now the delicate elsectonics of the front are not working... and if it had been stacked in the front you may have broken the sensor...

sounding more and more like youve bought ones thats been front ended....

hi you got me well worried now....

firstly the airbag does look as if the cover of it has been pulled off as it does not sit in flush with the rest of the steering wheel but then there is no message saying the airbag has been opened, as id expect it should say that, secondly do u just pull the small air flow grill bit in the bottom right of the bumper as u look head on does it just pull out any danger of breaking the clips .

also do u think if i took it to VW dealership they coulf fix the atibag cover, the sensor and the rear window heater button as that is pushed in and stays on all the time.

i also did a AA data check on the car and it did not report any accidents unless ofcourse he did a diy job!

there are 2 clips in the top row, not major ones tho press in and the grill will come out

Its hardly delicate electronics, its a sensor that clips off behind the grill and as for the air bag it is probably just not been fitted properly after taking the wheel off, maybe to change a faulty stalk.

now then gaz b ure posts makes me feel better....thank god

i dont think the car has been in a crash if it has it has definately been one hell of a good job as there is no way of telling , i been told that the dark blue non metallic cars are going fro about 1000 cheaper than the metallic ones so maybe that explains the cheap price (£5400 for a 02 33k tdi se) hopefully AA claim its not dodgy as far as the airbag i think its just come off slightly soem how it seems liek u can push it back in but it wont go...

did u say the sensor behind the grill can clip off is it a cheap job? does anyoen knwo where to get them from pls

Took mine off when I painted my bumper, piece of p?ss mate, dunno about the cost pop in to your local dealers they will help you.

If you dont want to pay dealer prices then look for a VAG specialist in your area

Arbag prob has not been clipped back in properly, dont pull it off tho as you need the wheel in a certain position first

VAG = Volkswagen Audi Group

Nah not a specialist job, took mine off myself, its just too hard to explain on here, and you dont want to fudge it up, if you do fancy it tho:

Turn the wheel 90 degrees from being straight. You will see or feel a hole behind the wheel where it rotates from the steering column. Take a long flat head screwdriver, put it in the hole the open the clip. You need to undo the clip by pulling down on the screwdriver like opening a tin of paint. then try to clip it back in properly. Good luck, if you have a go
