Check your front scuttle mate my last golfs drain holes had blocked up with crap. And water came in through my heaters made a right mess and it stank of old dog for months......
-
yup mine too, drainage holes blocked at the drivers side of the scuttle panel!
-
Door membrane may have split or become detatched allowing rain water in. Whip off the door card and have a look.
-
Oh have you checked your door seals.....
-
defo not door cards, checked those, goin check my scuttle in a mo!
-
on the driver side it'll either be leaking in thru the bonnet release cable grommet due to blocked drains, through the vapour seals in the door cards, thru the sunroof due to blocked drain pipes, or worse through the windscreen seal.
-
where will the blocked drainage be?
-
under the plastic rain tray either side are the scuttle drain areas, these get full of leaves so water starts backing up.
The sunroof drains are at the front & back of the sunroof opening, the front rubber tubes run down the a pillars and through a gap in the front wings to the wheel arch. If either of the wings have been replaced, sometimes the drain tubes get caught & pinched then the water backs up. The back ones run out into the rear arches. Pour a little water into the sunroof area and make sure the water drains out quickly :)

Will do thanks!!
