hair dryer one a warm setting (not hot! just warm enough to loosen the glue) :)
-
yeah thats a thought, its really well on there, factory fitted i think!!.
-
he's right, you know...
Or a really diluted solution of acetone will work, but you have to work quickly and wash it off straight away, you know what, do as hypnotoad says....less chance of making your paint bubble away...
-
Age is on your side though! Glue doesnt last forever :) Warm water may even loosen parts.
Just make sure u start with the dryer on cold and turn it up slowly until u get to the loosest setting that will soften the glue. If it seems to be getting too hot and the glues not budging turn it off :)

Oh and if u need to use something as a 'scraper' to move it away from the paint dont use anything metal! use something in very soft plastic, like a fish-slice
-
lol, a fish slice!! thanks for your advice, see ive just got some 90spec skirts arches and door mouldings, got the arches on no problem, having a right nightmare fitting the sideskirts though, the retaining strips have little bits broken off in places, going to have to replace them £12 from gsf,

go to chavfords and buy that sticker remover liquid stuff you cheapskate
-
thats like the way that runs out the back off the boots corners, i find autglym polish usually gets it off!! maybe a good polish will help remove sticky? but i'd go with blue./ he's generally right.... cocky lil....
-
i know it sounds daft but try WD40 it usually removes glue and sticky stuff no problem
-
T-Cut should do it, or maybe wax polish? + Elbow grease ;) Failing that, i can almost certainly gurantee that autoglym tar remover will do the job!

Incidentally, the stuff coming out the back is the waxoyl stuff from the inside as it heats up and just starts to melt.

ill tell u what, for a tenner, you can buy a toffee/caramel wheel, its made of rubber, you put it in a drill and use the spinning edge which will roll any sticky strips or car stickers off without marking your paint.
u can pic them up at car paint shops etc

yea thats a thought, they use them at work, didnt know if it damaged the paint though, ill get onw tomoz! cheers ppl!
