Title: Engine oil
Post by: Mark95502000 on 13 November 2003, 13:21
I posted in here some time ago about the Royal Purple banner link on the home page.Like I said then.....I have been using it for some time.Alot of people do not realise the problems caused by poor lubrication.

Anyone looked at the RP site yet?

I suggest you do......as the figures are far better than Mobil and castrol.Just because you havnt heard of it doesnt mean it isnt good.

Hi

I had a look at the Royal Purple site, one of the dealers is only about 10 miles from my house so I thought I would give the a ring. After about five minutes of telling me how good the oil is (and I am sure its great stuff) he told me how much it was going to cost me for 5 litres. 70 pounds!!! That?s a rather expensive oil change especially as I like to change it twice a year. Great read up but too expensive for me.

Just out of general interest........Lewis.........

Royal Purple have now dropped their prices significantley. 5 litres now comes for around the same price as the same of Halfords own brand synthetic!!!

Prices havnt been confirmed yet.......but I am assured by my Rp man that they have been dropped a long way (apparentley they met there import targets.....although what this has to do with anything im unsure)

I will just post these figures....for general interest:

Royal Purple 5w30 (standard engine oil, not the racing stuff, which is far stronger, but more expensive too)

Viscosity

Cst @ 40 degrees centigrade 65.3 (Mobil 1 with supersyn is 56)

Cst @ 100 degrees centigrade is 11 (Mobil 1 is 10)

Flashpoint 235 degrees centigrade (Mobil 1 is 224)

Sureley the figures speak for themselves...........And now, it comes cheaper.

I would defiantly try it if the price had dropped. May be they quoted me for the racing oil instead as it?s only been about a month since they told me the price. By the way do you work for Royal Purple or what?
