Title: Mark 2 Jetta
Post by: RaKeR on 18 January 2006, 20:29
Hey guys!

Not gonna ramble 'cos I might be in the wrong place, but would this forum be able to help/offer advice with a Jetta?

Cheers!

Si.

Sweet!

Well first things first - I paid 200 notes for a 1990 1.6 TX 1.6 with 100,00 miles on the clock.  It is mint with a full and comprehensive VAG service history - 1 owner taxed and tested.  Was this a good buy?  I felt that it was?  I actually rescued it from a fate worse than part-ex for my colleague in work!

All I want to do is uprate a few items - and do a bit of colour coding and lavish the old tlc, but I'dlike to know for future reference, how interchangeable is the Jetta with the Mark 2 golf gtis?

Anyone out there with the 1600 carb model that has done any nice mods which have improved/enhanced the Jetta at all?

Mucho Thanko!

Si.

pretty much anything from the rear doors forward are the same as a mk2 golf. i don't know much about the tx but i assume its similar to the golf driver, engine wise. post any problems in the mk2 or garage sections for the best help as quite a few people have the 1.6 drivers on here...

i had one of them ! like joe said it's all the same as a 1.6 golf. spec is similar to a driver. my fave bit was the ski hatch/holder in the back seat. i took mine out and replaced it with a sub
