anyone tell me where you can get a black rear VW badge from, i have got a black one for the front from awesome-gti but cant find one for the rear.

Try http://www.gpcvwaudi.co.uk but don't go by the prices on their website its years out of date, give em a call :)

VW used to sell em but its been discontinued :(

I gave them a call. good price for the front one... but they dont sell the old ones anymore!!!!  :cry:

any one know if i can spray the orignal one? or is that just a stupid idea?

spray it defo, or get 1 from a scrappy an spray that 2 see how it looks, i reckon it will look the biz!!!!!! :nerd:

Go careful dude!! They are a pain in the arse to get out -(or easy to get out but hard to put back in!) I sprayed mine black, looked cool, but like i said was a barstard to get in!  :angry:

Depends what year, the later ones use the same rectangular clips & inserts as the 'Golf' badge, the earlier ones have a round pin thing with a chunky rubber insert.

I had no dramas with removal (later 90 spec car), just levered it out from the inside and it popped off, got a spare from the scrappy just in case, removed the rubber from the back and cleaned 15 years of crap out of it and sprayed it matt black, did not like it on the car so removed it flatted it and sprayed it Tornado red to match the car, wit til dry reaffix the black rubber backing and pop back into the panel, wicked result!! :cool:

i got mine off a rallye, held in with the little rectangle pins. if you've got no luck in the next month or so you can have mine as i'm smoothing all the rear panel off.

You would be a star, I will have a look this weekend at spraying mine. so maybe you will hear from me in a month  :smiley: if i have no luck

yeah no worries,mind you if they are that rare.....hmmm ebay?! ha ha ha! :laugh: i think it could be quite hard to get a decent coverage on a badge, worth a try though!
