hello my names martyn im 29 im going to have a look at a mk3 1.8 tommorow this will be my very first car as ive always ridden bikes but now being married and kids i thought it was about time to get my car license and get a car. what should i look out for on a k reg mk3 also has anyone got any suggestions about insurance as my quotes have been around £1000

sorry to hear bout your insurance mate! what about the company that insures your bike, if they do cars as well couldn't they do some sort of no claims discount.... :undecided:

i found just searching internet the best way to get a cheap quote, i had to insure me and other half on a GTI without any no claims discount plus he's under 25..... found a good one in the end!  :laugh:

tried my my bike insurance company nogo as i dont have my full license yet so it looks like im stumping up the £600 for the insurance

okay then im picking up the car next sunday ive already bought the general service items i.e oil plugs and filters and ive bought a new cam belt and tensioner but i dont really want top attempt this myself as i would like a engine after it so does anyone know of a good vw mechanic in or around  bristol who doesnt charge the earth and is good
