Title: Driver brakes
Post by: Si on 12 January 2006, 15:42
Are the Brakes on a 1.6 Driver supposed to be same as GTI?
i.e. are the disks supposed to be vented or solid? if solid, then the caliper is different isnt it?  :undecided:
I know the Drivers have drum brakes on rear.  :rolleyes:

same size as the 8V gti aren't they?? the difference being the pads and discs are different widths;

can't remember if the pads are thicker and discs thinner or the other way about  :undecided:

So you mean the Driver has narrower disks (solid) and thicker pads, and GTI has wider disks (vented) and narrower pads?  :undecided:

Yep, swapped them myself. Zimmerman disks and Pagid Fast Road pads from GSF.
