Can any one tell me what to do i have a 1.6 golf mark 2.
I want twin carbs? I have been offered two types one is twin webbers 45's
everything i need, and the others are detroilds or something like than cant
spell it write. the webbers are 250 and the others are 200 both include p
and p and everthing i need. The webbers are so cheap because they have a
crack in the body of the carb but this is where there is only air in the
carb so doesn't effect the carbs performance i can get these welded at work
so no prob there.
What do i do???????? HELP

don't bother
wasting your time
- save up for a GTi 8v
cost you about 700 quid for a nice looking 90.
and give you 115 out of the box
IMHO
-
you talking from exp or selling a gti 8v? ;D
-
No I would never buy an 8v - LOL (nothing wrong with them - just not for me)
With all the money involved in swapping over a pair of (damaged carbs) then setting them up (every coupla months you'll be tinkering with them to balance them and get the mixture right). You'll need to swap the fuel pump over for a more manly item.
Your ins will add another 50 quid to your (already high) premium.
And for the power increase - it ain't worth it.
Lovely noise tho - I'd have a pair of 40's on my Valve 8)

thanx for your advice m8 :-*

This Danish lad has fitted Webbers and a new cam to his 1.6
and he's getting 140 bhp -
Might as well bought a valve

-
and he colour coded his dash
that's 12 bhp right there
-
and he's got 200mph on the clocks - wow ::)
(I know it's mph really, just thought it'd be funny to say that;D)
