Title: Second Gear

Hello, I have just recently noticed when I go out for in my car, when I change into 2nd gear it sounds like its slipping into gear i.e noisy as in I didnt use the clutch. It does not seem to bad when it is warmed up and changes gear correctly - is it time for a new clutch  ???  ??? By the way its a 96 8v. Any help appreciated.

2nd gear synchromesh, common problem on vws. Try changing your gearbox oil for castrol syntrax, then go easy on it till its warmed up.
