Title: help needed! what next??
Post by: NicolaLane on 10 January 2006, 20:38
ok so i've just got my golf back from having loadsa work done to get it to go round corners and stop!

and after a boring afternoon at work i've drawn up a "to do" list of stuff i still wanna do,

1) sort out some new wheels and tyres (can't decide weather to refurb my existing ones, get G60 steelies or some nice alloys... :undecided:)
2) fit induction kit
3) new number plates (mine front one is cracked! as pointed out in my previous thread.....)
4) get central locking
5) put light tint on windows
6) i also need to sort out the timing.... but i don't really understand that bit, being new to this!!

anyway i'd apreciate any advice on how hard these things are to do/how to do em/what you think in general??!!!

cheers!

oh i've also got a dent in my drivers door i need to push out..... i managed to do it myself with my arse!!! don't ask....... :lipsrsealed:

all easy enough to do and nothing majorly expensive...

only thing i'd say is don't bother with an induction kit, just get a decent panel filter and it'll be just as effective.

finger out of arse then mate! get them fitted.

As far as car audio goes your better spendin more on less, a simple HU with a good processor in it, good 4 channel amp, pair of components for the front and a 10/12" sub for the boot is the best way imo.

Can get you a nice 4 channel amp and 10/12" sub mate, my mate is a distributor

http://www.innovationaudio.co.uk

I run a PHD 4*75wrms amp, 12" Diablo sub and soon to go in Celestra 2.1 kwrms mono amp for the sub (all are on the link above)
Get some audioscape pods 2nd hand for some nice 6.5" components, again my mate can supply. I'm sure we can get you a deal on a complete setup apart from headunit and wiring kit (get a 4g value wiring kit from Caraudiodirect).

Headunit wise, midrange Pioneers are nice (my girlfriend runs one), the more expensive JVCs, Alpine of course, Kenwood have some decent headunits again now.
