Title: How to use the on board computer
Post by: koopgti on 10 January 2006, 16:02
Hi

Hoping you guys can help. I've recently bought a golf gti 8v mk3
everything is good so far
however usually after playing with something technical you get the idea of ithow to use it and what it can do
but this on-board computer has me a little confused
either is faulty or I'm missing the obvious

On the stalk there is 4 symbols 0-1-2-0.
Can anyone clarify what it represents

also regarding the information for miles & mph
I assumed that they would show miles - average miles left in petrol tank
mph - average mph

my miles has stayed at 4
and my mph has stayed at 23
so could they sensors be faulty or am i barking up the wrong true

your advice would be very helpful

hello,

ok.
the first 0 is reset for 1, which is info for short journeys. this resets itself after about 2 hours.
the second 0 is reset for 2 , which is overall info. this never resets itself.

to reset these , hold the switch to 0 for a few seconds.

miles is the miles you've done since the last reset

mph is your average speed over that mileage

hope that helps

I think you can only reset them with the engine running BTW .
