You want to put a Vr6 engine into a 1.4 Shell ?

Y Bother ? Youll have to insure it as a dodgy vr6 anyhow

unless you can buy a trashed mk3 vr for peanuts and have loads of time , dont bother!!   but a 1.8t could be worthwhile

but i thought youd just need engine, gearbox, loom and ecu and it would just drop straight in? or is there more to it?

You'l need the brakes and suspension for a start.   Oh and gearbox cos you only got a 4 speed and i dont think it would be up tp the job TBH.   You can pick up VR's quite cheap nowadays mate. Id just save all the hastle and and cash and buy one.
