Cant wait to ditch my old leathers for my new set.

Looks like a nice set, how much did they set you back?
How easy is it to fit new seats to a mk2?
-
driver/passenger seat....
one bolt at the front,
unscrew the rail cover (one screw)
now yank the whole seat back. when you tumble backwards you know its out
same for passenger front^
rear bench...
2 or 3 screws (3 if its 60/40 split)
takes a few minutes if that
-

Leather in a mk2 has a couple of good and bad points.
bad:
Temperatures - freezing cold mornings, sit on them and your bollox retract back into your pelvis cavity. Hot days, you get out with either the chair welded to your thighs or thrid degree burns.
Cracking - ages of the chairs means they start cracking in some places, usually bolsters etc.
Good:
They look f**king ace
They are wipe clean
They look f**king ace.
Must be why i have them in my motor.

You mean the leather seats in a mk2 aren't HEATED?? Oh dear....
-
how much did these set u back daz as i would like to put leather interior in my valver some day!
-
nah baz we don't need them as we get the heat from the edge of your pants drive we have, whereas you need the heat as the most exciting ride you mk3 drivers have is going round a corner faster than 15mph.
-
Now come on, that's a load of... wait... hang on... I just thought. ok, you win.
But I still got a warm ass!
-
my leathers are heated just need plugging in!!wish it was that easy!!
-
well i have a very very mouldy Rainbow interior, so count urself lucky!
-
i use leather dye in the cracks and then autoglym leather cleaner and leather care. gets rid of the shine which looks crap imo.

They didn't cost me a penny ...but cost the missus £Â£Ã‚£...if you wait your time and are careful with your bids you can get a set off ebay for less than £200 mate...
that's without doorcards tho..they tend to go for almost the same as the seats
and by the way people..i now have a rainbow interior for sale...will put it in the for sale section when i get the pics onto my comp
-
^^^I might be interested in ur rainbow interior mate, seeing as mine is mouldy, i need to give it a clean and see if it can still be salvaged! is urs in good nick?
£200 thats a bargain by the way!!!

Let me know how you get on with your interior, mine is ok apart from the drivers seat which is worn on the bolsters from getting in and out...the rest of it just needs a good clean up which I was going to do until I got the new ones.
Definatly no mould on it tho
-
Nice one, well i will give it a clean this weekend then let you know. Its a shame coz the interior was imaculate, now its growing its own pennycilin!!
-
