this is his nova  he is half way through putting coilovers on the back + full weld in rollcage. it needed new turrets for the rear coilovers tho as the standard setup is pretty sh!t with the spring and dapmer seperate

-
i once had a porsche 911 try to overtake me up a hill on a short stretch of dual carriageway...i was pulling away at the top...
might be worth mentioning they obviously didnt change down a gear and i went from 5th to 3rd... :embarassed:
-
I've done a mk2 16v officially on the Santa Pod 1/4 mile in my cabby at GTI festival last year as a few on here can vouch for.
I know it should have spanked me, but it didn't and I've got a RWYB slip to prove.
-
Well, on Chrimbo day i kept up with a Bentley Continental GT along the Epping New Road, overtook 5 cars in the process and got upto an indicated 115mph
That was so fun!
-
550 marranello out of the gooseneck at cadwell park in my old mk1
(but if my car was worth that much i wouldnt throw it around much either )
-
come on thats no where near as "good" as my old nova   my, that car got some abuse! just look at the state of it lol, but they were quick off the mark iam afraid
(http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Sweet_peas/novasri.jpg)
oh and my car beat a boyed up 16v corsa the other day up a steap hill, which is nation speed limit, should of seen his face as my car flew past him.. :smug:
-
Novas were quick, just worse build quality than 205s imo.
I had a Nova 1.2 when I passed and although it was fun to drive, it was awful!
-
i agree steviem, they are fun to drive as you can sling them round corners, handbrake them, my 1.3SR used to bet RST's of the line at traffic lights hahahaa they soon over took but 1st and 2nd gear were quick, just they are poorly made, had brake problems and had a habit of blowing valves oh and the interior is awful
-
hmmm novas i am sorry to say i also had a d reg 1.3 sr (the one that had the propper recaro interior) then later on had a 1.4sr on a f reg great little cars when you are young pretty cheap to insure and run
i always remember doing a perfect handbrake turn into a parking spot in the f reg one
i have still never managed to do the same in any other car
oh yea and in the d reg with 4 people in it i was coming back from leeds and there is a big hill that drops down on the m62 and the little thing managed to go off the clock
-
^^^^ they were very good at handbraking for some reason :undecided:
-
an M3 in my Driver, on a twisty road, they guy was an absalute pudding on the straights he was right up my arse but as soon as it got twisty he was no were to be seen!
and a 205 1.9 gti in my 1.6 driver also!!
-
Best car ive pulled away from is a mr2, the middle shape one, obviously not a turbo one  on pirbright bends
-
I overtook a DB9 on my bicycle once.
It was parked up on a dealers forecourt though.
-
i was driving a nova sprot while the golf was getting done, actualy quiet rapid for a 1300cc. as for the golf since its run in best thing has prob been a supra, just so happened to get it on film aswell, will have to try and upload it if i can wrk out how. thing was blowing flames and all sorts at me. look on the guys face was emense though, he was shocked.
-
M3, 330, clk320, scared the sh!t out of a rarri once... he cudne lose me till we got out of the bends! then he was off :undecided:
-
Well, i pulled out of my drive this morning to be confronted with the local tearaway milkman!!! I thought to myself, "im gonner have this t**t" So i started to accelerate but just as i did, the t**t pulled over and jumped out!!!!! Right then i thought, its a fight you want is it????? But just as i jumped out to t**t the t**ser, he shouted over to me, "morning stu, bit cold this morning aint it?" in an obvious attempt to try and rattle me!!! Well i was havin none of this so i jumped back in my car ready for him to floor it again. When he finally got back in his float,(i never knew Mrs crompton had gold top before, the little minx!!)i was ready for him!!! He floored it,,,,, i floored it,,,, and i beat him the 2 foot to the end of our culdisack by 3" Oh yes, im the man!!!!!!! That 60 year old milk churner aint going to mess with me again in a hurry!!!!!
And just to rub his creamy face in it, as i burnt off i told him to cancel next weeks order of semi skimmed as im going on holiday and my mums going to stay with aunty rita for the week. Oh yes!! IM bad!!

was waiting for that one...thought i'd leave it an see how long it took
i beat some dik in a chavved-up fiesta a while ago, best bit was as we raced up the slip-road onto M32 his bodykit started falling apart
-
^^^^ ha ha thats outstanding!
-
   I was out for a burn tonight on the twistys when i came accross a Citroen thingy. Lets have some fun, i thought to myself. So i drove right up his ass, as if to say "come on lets play!!" He took the bait and was off like a shot  Well the first set of bends i was right with him, no messin  Down the next straight he was getting away from me a little  In the next set of bends he totaly out handled me and left me for dust :embarassed:ÂÂÂ
One things for sure,,,,
Il never mess with a 2CV again
Stu
-
Well i didnt really beat thiis Golf. But it was a Mk4 Gti like mine.
I have a 180 so we came off the slip road onto the dual carriage way and he was right on my tail so I thought here goes, of course ive never been one for hazzard perception and planning and was on the inside lane heading towards some old car in front of me at about a ton, the other driver was too close on the outside lane for me to pull out so i had to brake and let him go ahead, anyway managed to catch up to a nice distance and was doing bout 130 slowly gaining but i had to pull off at next exit, but this other golf must have been a 180 too. It sounded like it had an induction kit as it overtook me. But i dont think it was a 150, I hope not !! Anyway as i slowed down I gave a flash of the lights and he flicked his hazards. Would have been v.interesting had i not pulled off, I get paranoid over a 100 normally , but i was up 4 it this time, so i think i would have taken it to the limit lol! Anyways, just saying was a tidy race.
-
Just incase ne1 is upset at the speed mentioned above i apologise. It was around 11pm on a sunday night and there was only a few cars about. But considering the topic i hope its all good!!
Its nice to boot it every now and then...........
-
^^
It's not easy sticking to the limit on a clear stretch of dual carriage way, and I really believe that in the right conditions, most people that drive at speed are more likely to be concentrating hard on the road ahead and probably less likely to cause an accident.
Theres a nice long stretch of dual carriage way heading towards chichester from portsmouth, and I felt the urge to test my 150's top end. It was still pulling at an indicated 137mph (but again there was nobody else on the road and it was a clear dry night).
but the Law's the law, and there would be no excuse if your'e clocked over the ton.
-
mine kills 205 gti's, vtr's and most other baby hatches, runnin flat since the head gasket change.
as for the nova topic, i had a 1.2 spin fully gsi kitted, used to carry metal trays in the boot, stick them under the back wheels, handbrake lever yarked up into the back seat for the ocasional 4wd stylee doughnuts and drifting round sainsburys carparks
those were the days................,
-
in my dub it was a young lad in a gti who stalled at the lights, and i wasnt even racing?!?!?!
-
Some BMW's have a hard time overtaking me uphill.....!
I whooop the asses of those Chav and Chavette mobiles 'Sac 'o' Sh1t' Saxo VTR's (Very Tinny Ride ?) all the time !
-
The usual list of saxos, corsas, toyotas and the odd 318i but my favourite so far was a mk4 R32 rolling start at about 25mph and I whooped his ass well he couldn't get past my rear qaurter so thats good enough for me!!
The gearing on the golf is nice and long which makes it ideal for dragging somebody unless it's a moddded 2.2 vtec accord :) had him until 3rd gear got a vid somewhere.
http://www.bigupload.com/d=4ED81CBF here we go redneck raceway in York.
-
Had a youngish lad in an MGF sitting on my arse through some back roads the other day so once the traffic in front had cleared out of the way we started going for it... wasn't long before I couldn't even see him.
Also had fun chasing a Focus RS last weekend, was in traffic so it was just a quick squirt whenever there was a gap. He was in front but didn't get away from me once, although I'm sure he would've done had we had a longer run. Still impressed me though!
-
down the local scrappy the other saturday and this f#@kin great big guy walks in and says "you own that green mk2 outside?" i thought...sh#t! "yeah...why?" i replied. He said " i was trying to keep up with you last night on the A38 sliproad" i said how did you get on, i cant remember seeing you. He said, " You left me standing...nice one" when i walked out i saw him getting in a Focus st170? or something! ha ha ford fockus sh@#!
-
good work! whats yours by the way?
-
a mk2 1.8 8valve with 152k!
-
thats commendable
-
all this racing around  i like cruising
a mate and i was given a robin once(dangerous). had to drive it to work to show the lads,850 super robin, i got that much speed up going down this hill on the a449 that i flue past a lad from work in his chaved up civic.
  ,he was crying with laughter at the lights at the bottom of the hill n i was thanking god that the brakes worked .
p.s. don't go fast around corners in a pig
-
In my old VR Vento nailed a 330ci BMW and made the cock driving it look a proper tool in front of his misses, plus so many people didnt realise it was 2.8 V6 that by the time they did i had allready left them standing.
Now in the Mk1 to be fair not a lot can beat it. Nailed a couple of WRX's and every single little dick that drives a Saxo or Punto round here.
But one i dont do is go looking for it. My licence is to important to me to loose it. It takes a bigger person to just let them get on with it than to race and break either your car or your body.
