hi, i just picked up a mk2 85 1.6 golf n when you brake there is a hissing noise like air not fluid fron the master cylinder, if u stick ya head under the dash n brake with the engine runnin you can here it! also when u brake at idle the revs drop n it stools? i think itd the master cyilinder but there is no fluid loss? i have put a kink in the pipe fron t mainfold to the cylinder n the engine dose not cut out now but the brakes are crap n hard? the car has gti front disk n pads n a gti rear beam? if i do need to replace the master cyilider can i fit a gti one or would i need to replace th large black bell whish the sevrvo sits in, what is this by the way?
thanks for readin, any help would be grate!

Sounds like the brake servo if they are hissing and need a lot of pressure to apply them. There was another thread about dodgy servo's somewhere on this forum but I can't see it for looking!
