they doa 1.8 driver, dammit wish i'd have known, cudda got one instead of the 1.6, as it only GTI i cant insure!

try to insur the a mk1 cab
i was well surprised tonite by my quote
for me a 1.4 ford shedscort is £32 mth
a 1.8 cab gti is
£38 per mth
makes you wonder
aslo the ford was valued at £500
the gti at £1500
try and get your head round that one

that can't be right!! that makes it heavier than a MK3 and MK4 :shocked:
had a quick peak in Haynes last night - a GTI only weighs about 1100KG :nerd:

i have been out and looked at the plate on the car and that is what is says i was thinking it was about 1100kg too

Got a quote for my sis on an 89 gti 8v and came out at £550 tpf&t. That's being 18 with pass plus and 1 years no claims. Same for me would be just short of a grand!
