Title: Streight Swap?
Post by: MrDan on 04 January 2006, 14:31
Hi,

Iv had a search but i cant find anything directly relating to my quiery... which is...

How much work is swapping a 2.0 8V lump for a VR6 Lump in my Mk3 GTI, as the bodywork of my car is gorgeous but the engine might be getting on a bit (130k) and im after more go...

iv had a good read up and i know i cant do much with my current engine (couldnt pull the skin of a rice pudding), but with VR6 blocks with 60k on going for resonable amounts i thought this might be a good idea.

with no Air Con, and all cable control it cant be too bigger of a job? or am mistaken? would fuel pumps and loom have to be changed too?
