Title: 1.4 or 1.9 td?

hi
im having problems with 1st car...

my dad has a 1.9 td which i can have and i dont like the colour and it just sounds horrible.

the other choice is i can jus go get a 1.4 which will be nice and quite

which one would you guys for for also which one would be best on fuel, would there be much of a diference?

cant tell u much bout the td but mine (below) is a 1.4 its good on fuel, like u say doesnt sound like a tractor and if ur buying it yourself u wont have ur dad moaning about any mods u want to/will make. mines done 138k now and touchin lots of wood goes like a dream. I was away for 2 weeks over crimble and turned the key this mornin and it started 1st time. brought a smile to my face.

i think i would go for the td as they are very reliable and do about 50mpg
and it should be alot quicker than a 1.4.

If you want a petrol get a 1.6.  Not much more to insure or run but much better performance.

couldnt tell u tbh but it seems decent enough. Iv got no plans on sellin it now. nearly did a little while ago but it stands me at way more than its worth so il drive til it drops i recon, then sell the parts off it.
Thing is i live in guernsey now and the max speed is 35 and the roads are small and sh!tty. The last thing i need is a big engine, even tho its the first thing i want.
