Title: Wheel Moved Back
Post by: mak2503 on 31 December 2005, 13:52
We have a Golf MK2 Driver and during the bad weather we have been having we have smacked a kerb with the passengers side front wheel whilst trying to stop in slippery conditions.

This has made the wheel move back to almost touching the arch nearest the door.

Could someone let me know what they think the damage may be with the front wheel being moved back.

Thanks in advance.

I reckon you might of bent/broken the wishbone connected to that wheel?? Would'nt be that expensive to change it if it is that.

Did similar thing to my Driver a few months back. I bent wishbone and strut. Also buckled wheel.!
Wishbone is easy to replace, so is strut (better to buy new items). Then make sure you get all the geometary setup correctly by a garage and get your wheel checked aswell.

if you do end up needing to change the strut get them in pairs as changing one will make the car more dangerous to drive.
