...to get a bit more life out of my engine - 1.8 8v 1989 Cab.
I want try and keep it as relatively simple as possible and avoid complete engine swaps or 16v conversions (at least for now). A friend suggested a Twin Webber Carb set-up and a new cam for starters. Has anyone done this or similar, and is it worth the effort?
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,
I'll be interested to find out on the Twin Webber carb set-up as well. I may give C&R Enterprises a call in the new year and see what they say on upgrades.

i wouldnt bother with webers due to fuel economy and the fact that its going from injection to carbs! but what about a bigger throttle body and a high lift cam, the 2.2 audi throttle body fits i am led to believe

happy xmas mate, is your car carb or fuel injected?

It's a carb. The auto-choke went at about 160,000 miles so I've now got the manual choke conversion.
Oh yeah, happy xmas y'all!

he might have meant twin choke weber mate, if your cars workin ok now not worth effort and money unless you gonna do new engine like

Sorry my mistake, i thought ur cab was injection.
Its just getting hold of webers that is difficult, and even more so the manifold! But if you do it then keep us posted as i for one would be interested as to how it went. I was toying with the idea of twin 40's on my 1.6 driver a year or so ago
