Title: Automatic 1.6 question

Hi there

I am looking for an automatic MK4. for insurance cost reasons i will probably go for a 1.6

can anyone advise me what these models are like to drive, specifically the automatics ??, what is the difference between the normal 1.6, the 1.6 S and 1.6 SE ?? and finally what the best year for these cars are....obviously ther S and T reg ones are going to be cheaper but should i pay that bit more for an Y reg or 02 or newer ????

any advice on this would be great

i have driven a few golf auto's in the past for my old job, they are quite nice to drive tbh,as for buying maybe a T-reg, shouldnt be a problem if it has high miles as long as it has service histroy you should be fine.  :santa:
