yes mate, cos of the turbo conversion the intercooler sits behind there! :smiley:

these are pics are a couple of weeks old now, the car now has 15" bbs RA wheels, still have the set pictured but reckon the bbs look better/more subtle! :smiley:

will try to get some engine pics up soon, the turbo conversion looks a bit messy as it was a diy job but works very well!!! :grin:

not yet, still cant get enough fuel in it, its already got 6 injectors but underfuels on full boost! I've got some g60 ones to put on and see if that helps but waiting til after xmas. Also wanna get my oil cooler fitted too to be on the safe side! :smiley:

:grin: :grin:heh heh, its the original 8v engine, bored out to about 1900cc and a turbo from a pug 306 turbo dsl!!

A mate of mine has a turbo technics 8valve engine that he had in his mark 2, and it had all the proper management on it and a 5th injector that comes on with the boost, he sold it to my other mate who is putting it in his mark 1, its around about 200bhp!! i think he said it did 14sec quater miles (i think)
I am toying with the idea of turboing my scirocco in the spring/using a digifant engine so i may be badgering you for advice nearer the time!

I remember seeing in one of the mags earlier this year (i think :undecided:) a 16v that had been turbo'd using a t3 off an escort turbo...thought that was quite clever..take the only good bit off a ford (which is made by someone else anyway) and use it on a proper car :grin:

The guy who now has the turbo technics engine built his own aswell first with a home made manifold and a turbo from a rover 820T and an intercooler from a renault 21 diesel! But but on the way to the MOT he blew the seals on the turbo! D'OH!

yeh is a mixture, it does use and escort rs turbo intercooler! with all these bits from french cars and fords im suprised it works at all!! :grin:

is it still on the digipants management? ive seen a few people using the peugout management off the 205's on vw's...but sshhh...don't tell len or lottie...don't want them knowing peugouts are useful for anything... :wink: :laugh: :laugh:

yeah still original management (as far as i know :laugh:), there is a little box of tricks in the glovebox with loads of wires coming out but thing thats something like a mappable injector driver (think thats what it says on it??) for the 2 extra injectors...
im not much of a mechanic im afraid, my strategy normally involves have a go, make it even worse, tow it back to the bloke that built it and pay him to sort it.... :grin:

my dads a mechanic but he is an ex ford mechanic, he hates vw's :angry: and he hates turboed cars so as you can imagine he is not usually very helpfull with mine.... :angry:. Yeah lucky a few of my mates are dubbers and know their stuff

he's a proper ford man and goes for big engines rather than a turbo. I think his main hate of turbos stems from when i had my series one escort rs turbo a few years back and he never got a weekends peace cos i was always dragging him out to try and fix it again :grin:

ha ha good old Ford Fixed Or Repaired Daily, they are nice tho the series one! my uncle had one back the day!!

yeah it was fun when it worked (which wasnt often), went like a missile and shot huge flames from the exhaust! :grin: Shame it was the most unreliable car in the world and did about 2mpg!! :shocked:

Looks alright mate, tidy for a home brewed conversion, wouldn't want to try and work on it though!!

^yeah is a bit of a nightmare to work on. I tend to have too take it back to the bloke who did it and have spent hours wandering round scrappies trying to find a pipe to fit when the one to the intercooler split!

why dont you get some silicone ones cut to size? i know they can be pricey but its something you could do a bit at a time :wink:

that is part of my long term plan, wanna get the whole engine bay blinged up a bit with new hoses and loads of chrome :cool: . Trouble is every time i wanna make a start on it something more important breaks! :cry: My clutch has just started slipping badly so thats the next thing. dunno whether to go for an uprated one?

i know what you mean about stuff always going wrong when your planning on doing something else to it :angry:
but i thats what we've all come to expect when modifying cars
if its still got a standard 8v clutch then i would def get an uprated one because of the extra power being produced by that turbo :evil:

yaeh standard at the moment. I am on a major budget though, i dont think uprated clutches are much more to buy than a decent standard one though so will prob go uprated.

What Manifold/turbo/intercooler did you use?

the turbo is from a peugoet 306 td, the intercooler is apparently ford RS turbo and as far as i know the manifold was made by the bloke who did the engine. Thats what the guy that built it all told me anyway! :smiley:

And would the guy who built it be willing to create another frankengolf?

doubt he would do another one, think he gets fed up with me taking mine beck every time anything goes wrong cos he runs a garage but they are only really a tyre and exhaust place, he just sort if built mine in his spare time at work for himself. Sure he wouldnt mind givin some advise though,i'll check if he minds me givin out his number then pm it to you if u want! :smiley:

cheers matt, i wasnt sure on those wheels, they are the 3rd set i have tried. Currently the car has 15" bbs ra's on it. Im currently tryin to decide whether to sell the wheels pictured (so let me know if anyone interested :grin:) of possibly get the spokes colour coded and stick em back on! not sure, what do you think? :smiley:
