Title: MkII Dash Speaker Removal
Post by: Whysub on 20 December 2005, 15:18
How do I remove the dash speakers on my 1991 Mk II? Is there a hidden screw that secures the grills on? DonÂ’t wanrt to damage them by prising them off.

Anyone recommend a direct replacement? Not wanting to spend much-only use the radio to receive traffic reports, but the drivers side speaker sounds awful.

Ok, just have a look at the grill on the driver's side, where it faces you rather than the window, there is a little square of plastic nearer the door, just prise that from the bottom and that will pop off, under that is a screw, undo that, and you can pull the grill away...
If you want to wait, when its light tomorrow, I'll take some pictures and post them up here so you know exactly what to do.

Thanks for that-I have seen the little "panel" but didn't want to try and prise it off if it didn't come off!

I have seen how fiddly ikt is to get the speakers out...............

The only time I've ever had to upgrade some the customer wanted a new windscreen so I replaced them before I fitted the new screen
