Why has the drivers door on my Mk2 dropped it doesn't line up anymore and looks a right dog i had to adjust the striker pin so that it would shut.
-
Anyone been leaning on the door, as they could of stretched the hinges? my drivers door sags a little
-
if its a three door, its called age, that and metal sag. It happens after 14+ years of use.
-
mines a five door, and since we changed the doors.. they no longer match up, no mtter how we try! just means that you have to close with slightly more force!
-
youve got a old golf mate, if its not one thing then its another, its all part of the fun, i challenge anyone to show me a faultless golf, i thought mine was working perfectly until an hour ago when my immobiliser stopped working again... oh well
-
so what can you do about dropping doors cos mine is the same ....?
Jet
-
buy a new car with matching doors
-
You can put a wheel bolt in the door hindge, then you close the door SLOWLY! which stretches your door hinge & levels up you door. Saw this on here ages ago, as trying to remove the door pins in a Golf is hard :-(
-
I was in a bt of a rush to do mine, so just used a trolley jack and a plank of wood to bend the hinge back up. Not the best solution but works and is about a 5 min job!!
