My intermitent wipe is very... well.... intermitent. Sometimes it will work, the other it just keeps on going full cycle.
You can hear the relay click but the wipers dont park in the bottom position, same happens when I use the washers.
I have changed the MFA stalk as I was told by a VW technician it would most likely be that. I have also tried a used but alternative wiper motor. No joy?
Really p***ing me off so again any help would be oh so welcome :) :santa:

Could it be that the relay is sh@gged, just cos it clicks dont mean it works properly? Failing that, a loose connection praps?
-
If its anything like the rear wiper then there is a park wire. If there is a break in this wire then it will never park properly. I found this with my rear one.
-
Thankyou very much Mr MK2, that sounds about right. I will have to try and find the park wire. The fault feels like a wire that is sometime breaking down.

Replace the relay with a variable intermittant one from a MK3. The old one will have '19' printed on it, and the variable ones have '99' on em. If it doesn't fix it at least when you do you'll have variable intermittant wipers :)
-
How do I vary the speed though? I dont have mk3 stalks and I cant be arsed spending too much more money on it. Its already swallowed nearly £100 trying to get warm again
-
Don't need MK3 stalks:
click down
wait for 1 sweep
click up
wait for desired delay
click down
:)

oooooooooooo gotta love the search function - top answers
but
will this work on my old CL RJ ???
as neither the front or rear park
-
the relay will fit prety much all VWs, got one in me mk1 cabby and my gfs mk3 polo! might not fix your problem though ;)
-
find out in 2 minutes, gti ones work, so its borrow relay time
oh well, seems like i need a new stalk, no fast front wipers or rear wash

hold on. So if i go to a scrappy, find a mk3, and look at the relays, i should get the one that says "99"? and then i can do the intermitent thing??

yup

 will look for one next time im in the scrappy too.
Any other stuff that can be nicked from a mk2 to put on a mk2? ive got the weighted shift rod already.
