As many here already know, I do my own maintenance on VW's and Audi's. I also do ad-hock work for friends, family and people that ask.
Has anyone come across a decent pc based 'car maintenance' document or program for recording work done i.e. oil and filter changes, timing belt, repairs, inspections, when they're next due etc?
I've tried writing a couple of excel spredsheets before now, but with my limited pc skills, I haven't really come up with anything that could be described as a decent 'sevice history'.
golfvr6, you're another one that does a lot of your own work, not to mention other peoples. How do you record what you have done and when things are due?
Anyone else come up with a decent spreadsheet or program?

I use some software at work called Fleetbase which flags up when MOTs, services and Tax etc are needed also lets you add things like mileages, accidents and expenses! Would be quite usefull but its a well secure program the company who wrote it get the arse if i move it from one pc to another!

I've always done everything I do to my cars, but I cant be arsed with a spreadsheet. Sounds like a good idea thou.
at the moment I use a ickle notebook i keep in the glove compartment, use LH pages for any work/parts etc, RH tabled for record of every petrol fill up; date, mileage, cost, and quantity. its a bit anal I know, but have got into the habit, so just fill it in every time i fill up.
Maybe its pointless, who knows. my last car was stolen, with the book, which gave the teiving scrotes a full record of all the mods I had done to the car......DOH!

Whenever i do a service, i just print out a list of things that have been inspected, and any other work that needs doing . Thats about it.
