Was wondering if there are any easy ways to lighten the steering without looking at messing with the rack, etc. The power steering seems fine, topped up and no weird noises. Are there some bushes somewhere that might have perished, or such like? I drove an 8v before I bought mine and the steering there was unbelieveably light.

8v & 16v racks are different. the 16v is slightly heaveir

^^^ speaking of working muscles i got a shock when i picked up my scirocco on sunday, no power steering and a really heavy clutch, came as a bit of a shock! I have been spoilt with power steering!
