whats involved? straightt swap?? or, what other options do i have.
what good ways do i have to improve the brakes cheaply?

hiya
did it myself couple of weeks ago.
straight swap, just look a bit different. got mine for £60 from vwscrapper, with 80% pads. was easyish, just i had trouble undoing everything was all siezed solid. nice difference tho.

Just use good quality re-con mk 2 calipers (mine had Lucas tags on and were pristine).  If the first set lasted 18 years...

Well providing the rear calipers dont add too much extra weight... :evil:

KKK, where did you get that name from? The turbocharger, or the pillowcase wearing fools from America?

most things will swap straight over.i have audi a4 calipers with tt 288mm disc's on the front of mine.the mk3 calipers are just better than the mk2 you dont get all the hassle of them seizing up and sh!t.gives you a better hand break aswell!
