Do a search on here --> http://www.knfilters.com/search/appsearch.aspx I notice there is a Golf option which has 1.6L, 1.8L etc but the Golf ii just says 1.0 or 1.3.

Haribo, i got mine from my mate at Hoopers Motorsport in Kingswood in Bristol.
Cant remember exactly how much it was but i recall it being about £40?!?
Ive taken mine off for the winter and stuck my standard airbox on.

ah dont worry peeps, i found where i can get one all the way back on page one   , but when i went to hlfords today i found that a standard one was 5 quid and the K&N was 41 quid, so i said f**k that and got a standard one, they cant be 35 quid better, thats just silly.

ive got a Carb bolt on too which might fit my weber but i may have to make new holes... not sure yet, i really havent looked, i actually think ive broke my engine again,  its being clattery inside, no decrease in peformance just has trouble keeping at a steady idle, odd,
cheers

I know what you are saying about the air filter but the k&n are good for 50,000 - 100,000 miles, so basically once you install them you never have to replace them on a service etc and can clean and re-use if you really want to, but with a stock filter you need to change it at every service, so in the long run the k&n isnt that much dearer but I guess at £35 difference you'd need to do about seven more services to break even.

For your clatter problem, check your oil level.  :undecided:
