I have lost my locking wheel nut key for my Mark 4 Golf. I have the 16" Turbo alloys which came from a different mark 4 golf. Is there any chance that my local VW dealer will have a master key for it?
Any help appreciated.

If they are genuine factory fit locking bolts then I believe that dealers may well have a set of master keys . Best thing to do is phone them to find out. :undecided:
We were going to get a set at the VW dealership where I worked but the garage closed before we got them.

We had a few sets at the BMW garage I used to work for, but you could always guarantee that the one that you needed was missing!
If all else fails, just hammer a bigger socket (next size up) into the locking nut, & turn as normal with brace. You'll obviously need a new set of L.W.N.'s afterwards, though!

i had same problem with a breaker i bought, i just took a template with palstacine and made 1 with a long reach 8mm socket, they were thatcham approved, but still came off....

invest in a set of speed sockets - bloody useful for rounded off nuts too

You can get locking wheel bolt removers. They are different sized sockets with a left handed internal thread that fits over the locking wheel bolt , they do seem to work but they also knacker up the locking bolt :undecided: but at least it gets them off .

snap on do a set of multi size, i've got some, they cut into the bolt, but mine didn't have enough clearence round the edges of the locking nut, to get them on, so if your gonna invest £90, make sure you check first....
