Hi, I have a similar problem to the guy who had a leak in the front of his car. I have a puddle in my drivers side rear footwell. I noticed it about a week ago and it still has not dried up. I can't see where it is comming in from, any ideas would be welcomed. 1.8t Mk4 gti 02. Regards MC

oh joy, another leak thread
Just use the search function on here mate, there have been loads of posts about this lately. Pollen filter tray, side mouldings, door seals

Is it a three door mate? If so I had the same problem because of this, checkout these links...

Thanks guys, I have had a search on this site and I now think it must be linked to the rear washer. I shall have a crack at finding the tube for the washer, any tips? It is a five door if that makes any difference on a 02 plate. Thanks in advance. MC

Search, search, search, The washer pipe runs through the roof lining i think, cocka will know

Thanks for that, before seeing your reply I pulled out all of the bottom and side trim and did not find the tube but all seemed dry. I have had a look underneath the car and that all seems fine also I have tested the rear washer to try and make the fault happen again. It has not made anymore puddles, however the water that was there did smell like a detergent/screenwash. Could it be linked to driving through carwashes?

dunno, but if it smelt fresh like detergent then it cant of been there long. Is it a 3 OR 5 door
