Title: mk1 jetta 1.5 in a mk2

Hey
does any1 know much about these engines!
As some may know my 1.3 at the mo is completely knackered so i need a replacement engine!
Ive been offered a mk1 1.5 from a getta glx for my mk2 and he sed i can have the engine gearbox  and anything else i need to the swap!
The problem is i dont know if it will fit ie the mounts are different??
Can any1 share some light on my problem?????

Just had a word with dizzy is it true hat i just take out my mk2 mounts and aattach them were the original mounts for the jettta bolted on???

Yup you need to swap mk2 mounts onto it, and it'll drop straight in.  Only thing to worry about is the gear linkage, you'll probably need a complete engine bay setup from a 5 speed MK2.  Its easy to get to though it just unbolts from the steering rack :)

wellive got the ggearlinkage from the 1.5 so could i use that???

Nope the MK1 linkage is different I'm afraid :)
