if you lay on your back looking up at the chassis legs there are two 17mm bolts on either side with a smaller one in between. just undo the 17mm bolts and pull the bumper out away from the front of the car. then slide the new big bumper into the chassis legs and replace the 17mm bolts. its easy as that! some say you should support the engine as the bumper bolts through the cross member and into the chassis legs. and as the cross member takes the weight of the engine at the front its not bad advice, althought i've never done it.

the fogs just bolt in place in the only place they can using the bolts that should be supplied as they are held in place in a 'captive nut' style. then there is a loom coming from under the header tank with a square connector on it. the wires are yellow and brown or maybe white and brown? anyway you'll either have to nick a loom from a car in a scrappy or make your own. on factory fitted cars the loom goes behind the engine and down either chassis legs with the rest of the loom. it doesn't really matter how you run your wires as long as they aren't flapping around.

it is that easy. the looms are that hard to come by yes. well as far as i know you can't buy them so you either have to make one or find one. the connection should be there. it was on mine! i'm 99% sure it was part of the standard loom with the fog lighted  models getting the 'extra' bit.

no it should reach and be the same fitment, if not most big bumper indicators come with a loom anyway.

big bumper indicators have different bulb holders on the end, you just get the holders & loom from a bb car.  The fog light loom will run up to a spare plug under the header tank, you just have to find a way to extend it to the fogs, either with the factory loom or by making up y7our own.  Look up 'diygti' on ebay, he sells hella foglights complete with the loom for about £35-£40 :)

I need some help.

I'm fitting my new fogs and they are quite a poor fit which might be due to a) pattern parts or more likely b) i'm stupid. There is a lip going around the edge of the big bumper that looks like the fogs should sit on top of, but they won't fit. Here are two pics to show what I mean:

N.B.  It looks worse in the pics than it does in real life.

Do I need to mod the lip so that the fog fits on top of it (which will be v.difficult, maybe impossible  :undecided: ) of just try to get a closer fit???

nah fog lights never sit right as far as i'm concerned! which is why i junked mine and smoothed in some air ducts. they generally always sit like that, even factory ones....

p.s. anyone wanna buy some foglights? :P
